Student of Color Conference 2010

Are you ready for this year’s SOCC?!? You should be, because applications are out!

UCSA is a membership-based organization. Each year UCSA hosts three exciting conferences to convene members to further the progress of UCSA’s campaigns, develop student leadership and offer opportunities for students to network around a variety of higher education issues.

Students Of Color Conference 2010
…Transformation through Love and Art: Actively Reclaiming Power for Our Community (UCSB Nov. 19-21, 2010)

The Student of Color Conference provides a venue for students of color and allied leaders to strategize around statewide and campus-based actions and build leadership. The SOCC has played a crucial role for the entire University of California system by providing attendees with the concepts and skills needed to define and understand issues related to race, ethnicity and to form action plans for positive change. There will be workshops, speakers, caucuses, and time to plan and discuss issues with students on your campus as well as students across the UC.

The Student Union Assembly will be provide travel, registration and hotel accommodations. If you are interested in participating in this year’s delegation, please print out the application form or stop by the office and pick one up.
